1986, moved to Yass in 1993 after several years in Parkes
and then overseas working and touring. Married to Cath with
son, Angus and cute little Rosie. Keeps busy
renovating his garden and house.

Practitioner)
In 2007 Petrea joined
the practice, coming from mixed practice in the wheat belt
of Western
Australia. Like Stuart, Petrea is experienced
at performing equine dental procedures. She is known as our "cat whisperer" for her ability to deal
calmly with fractious felines.

Butler
(Veterinary
Practitioner)
Tamara
joined our team in December 2009 after working in central
Queensland for 12 months following her graduation from
Sydney University in 2008. She has a keen interest in
anything equine and is an experienced horsewoman.

James joined our team in January 2010 following his
graduation from Sydney University.

Peter Gibbs
(Veterinary
Practitioner)
Peter was the previous
owner and then partner until he sold the practice in
December 2009. Peter now works part time 3 days per
week. Peter graduated
Sydney University 1972, moved to Yass in 1978 after 1 year in
Mount
Gambier and 4 years in
Cowra. Married to Trish with three grown children and
two grandchildren.
He can
be seen scooting about town in his little red mini!!

Claire Scarlett
(Veterinary Practitioner)
Claire
joined the practice in January 2002 after graduating from Sydney University. Due to the birth of her son
she now works part time and runs our puppy preschool
and dog training. An experienced horsewomen Claire
spends the rest of her time in the paddock with her horses,
dogs, sheep and cattle or any other species that comes her
way.

Terry Butler
(Practice
Manager)
Terry joined the team in July 2006 bringing with him over 25
years of senior and executive management experience. He is a
recipient of the Australian Police Medal and a Fellow of the
Australian Institute of Management. In his quiet times
he runs a small horse stud just outside of
Yass and tries to fit in a round (or two) of golf.

Heidi Broers
(Head Veterinary
Nurse)
Heidi is our head Veterinary nurse. Heidi started
in 2001 and has continued to be the 'voice' of the team. She
stills finds time in her busy schedule to go for a ride on
her horse.

Anita Eccleston
(Veterinary Nurse/Groomer)
Anita joined us in 2005 and is an asset to our team with her
love of large animals and caring for wildlife. She is always
ready to help out with a calving and has recently completed
a dental course.

Brooke Bush
(Veterinary Nurse)
Brooke started with us in 2007 after having gained
considerable experience at the Canberra Veterinary Hospital. Brooke is currently
studying vet nursing and continues to play with her
horses in any spare time!

Alicia Perceval
(Veterinary Nurse/Groomer)
Joining us in 2007 she loves working with dogs or horses
coming from a household full of pets both large and small.

Louise Duncan
(Trainee Veterinary Nurse)
Louise is currently completing her
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and is working part
time as the Trainee Vet Nurse at YVH while undertaking her
studies. While not at work she will be found chasing her
three children and husband John as well as managing her
Arabian horse stud near Dalton.

Gail Battye

Supervisor & Bookkeeper)
Gail has been our very capable Receptionist, Secretary and
Bookkeeper since January 1988. As the practice has grown
and is much busier, she is ably assisted by our nurses and
part time Receptionists.
She is
always willing to entertain our waiting clients with stories
of her 'boys' Wally and Charlie the dogs.

Glynese
Evans
(Receptionist)
Glynese
joined the team in late 2002 then took a break to have
her 2nd child and has returned as our always
entertaining receptionist. She can be found at the
front desk with a border collie at her feet or competing
in Eventing on weekends.
Glynese has vet nursing
skills thanks to previously working at Kippax Vet
Hospital and extensive work
in the Thoroughbred industry which she continues as a
swabbing steward in her spare time!

Joanne is always early to work and is our reliable "tidy
person" as well as assistant nurse.
