Lauren Zarb

RECEPTIONIST  | COMMENCED 2021

Where did you grow up and how did your childhood shape you to work at Yass Valley Veterinary?

I grew up on an angus bull stud property on the edge of Canberra where we managed the farm for over 20 years. We ran properties of our own inclusive of sheep, cattle, and horses. My childhood gave me a passion and drive to pursue a career in the animal industry and Yass Valley Veterinary was the perfect way to dip my toe in.

What qualifications do you have?

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Animal Science at Charles Sturt University and have completed my training of AI (Artificial Insemination) with Stephen Brown.

Why do you like working at Yass valley veterinary?

I love working at Yass Valley Veterinary because you never know what is going to come through the doors. Everyday is always a surprise even though we run by a schedule. I love putting what I have learnt through my degree into practise with triage and helping clients get their animals seen by our wonderful vets and nurses. The team at Yass Valley Veterinary is amazing to work with! They are very supportive and encouraging through challenging times and they always have your back.

What you like doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I love to head back out to the farm and spend time with my dad and practising my AI techniques on the cows. I love spending time with my partner Josh and playing with our two cats Leo and Pepper. We are very fortunate with where we live so it enables me to go on nice long walks and soaking up the sun.

What pets do you have?

I have two cats with my partner Josh named Leo and Pepper
