VETERINARIAN | COMMENCED 2025
1. Where did you grow up and how did your childhood shape you to work at Yass Valley Veterinary?
I grew up on a sheep property along the Yass River, where animals were a part of everyday life. From an early age, I was involved in caring for both pets and livestock, which sparked a lasting passion for animal health and wellbeing. That early connection inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. After spending time away at uni and at the beginning of my career, I'm very happy to be back in my hometown.
2. What qualifications do you have? I hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Charles Sturt University.
3. Why do you like working at Yass Valley Veterinary?
I love working at Yass Valley Veterinary because of the supportive, tight-knit team and the wide range of animals we get to care for. It's a privilege to serve a community where you can build lasting relationships with both clients and their animals. We’re lucky to have such a fantastic team, and I genuinely look forward to coming to work each day.
4. What do you like doing in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy helping out on the family farm and spending time outdoors hiking. In 2024, I completed the Pacific Crest Trail in the USA, a challenging and unforgettable experience that pushed me physically and mentally. I also enjoy winding down and reading a good book at the end of the day.
5. What pets do you have?
I have a beautiful Border Collie x Coolie named Ellie, and our family has several working Kelpies on the farm, along with Tilly the Swedish Vallhund (pictured here after her recent dental procedure). They keep life lively and constantly remind me why I love what I do.
